coffee culture: what caught my eye about this

"gammon place had that starbucks feel, bright colors, cheesy holiday music, meager seating."

well, the author of this piece loves the w-word and uses it to death, but what caught my eye was the truth of the meager seating comment.

i too have noticed walking past the mermaids that occur every 10 ft. in nyc that there is less and less seating as time goes by.

it's as if howard's reacting to the common use of his places as office space. fewer chairs, fewer of the self-employed parked in them for 10 hours straight.

i wonder if this is becoming a trend or will become a trend among retailers, along with more wi-fi limitations? any comments or observations out there, dear readers?
